Bruce Thompson

Bruce is a dairy farmer from County Laois in Ireland. Coming from a large commercial farm business, Bruce received a Nuffield Scholarship to investigate dung beetles as a biological control mechanism for animal parasites. His research and travels have been in the area of beetle husbandry and grazing strategies. His emphasis is on reducing intervention through diagnosis and management. He sits on the AHI technical working group and the COWS steering board. He has run a couple of pilot programmes with farmers in the area of anthelmintics and dung beetles.
