This session will cover how biochar is made, how it differs from ordinary charcoal, and the importance of “charging” biochar before use. Jonathan will also discuss current Irish research and real-world applications, including its potential in soils, compost, slurry and livestock systems, helping farmers understand where it offers value and where expectations should be kept realistic.
