About Magilligan Tree Nursery

Magilligan Tree Nursery is a unique native tree nursery located within Magilligan Prison, producing up to 70,000 trees annually. It’s part of a broader environmental initiative aimed at developing new Irish woodland and ensuring a bio-secure supply of local trees. The nursery is run by prisoners and focuses on growing species currently in short supply, contributing to ecological and climate resilience.
