About Charlie Cole

Charlie Cole, co-owner at Broughgammon Farm in Ballycastle, Co. Antrim, is a champion of sustainable, regenerative agriculture and on‑farm artisanal production. Upon returning to his family’s 48-acre farm in 2011, where his parents had resettled from England. Charlie identified a profound opportunity to address the waste of male kid goats in the dairy industry. What began with a small herd of 30 rescued goats quickly expanded into a thriving operation, including the creation of their signature “Billy Burger” at local fairs .

Under Charlie’s leadership, Broughgammon has grown into an award-winning artisan farm, offering free-range cabrito, rose veal, seasonal wild game, and home-grown vegetables. The farm now includes an on-site butcher, café, farm shop, and hosts farm-to-fork supper clubs, butchery classes, foraging walks, and more, inviting the public to connect with regenerative food production.

Charlie, alongside his wife Becky, lives on-site with their two young sons and remains committed to transparency, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. As a recognised leader within the Euro-Toques Ireland and Naturally North Coast & Glens communities, he continues to inspire with his message: sustainable farming isn’t just about food, it’s about restoring broken cycles, celebrating craft, and nurturing a deeper respect for our natural world.
