About Ciara hArtghaile

Ciara runs multi award winning Ursa Minor bakery with her husband Dara where the focus is on excellent quality bread, baking and fresh, local food. Returning home to settle on the stunning North Coast after travelling round the world, they decided to bring what they had learnt to the community and the place they love.

Ciara’s passion is to share food and stories with people; to nourish and nurture with a focus on the journey from the soil to the soul. She has a lifelong love of baking inherited from her mother and a love of nature from her father. She promotes using high quality local produce, respecting and celebrating the seasons, supporting growers and producers and encouraging the beauty of circular economy. In her Substack GORSE Ciara weaves lyrical storytelling with recipe ideas and gentle encouragement to reconnect with the natural world.
