About Claire Whittle

Claire Whittle is a veterinary surgeon, regenerative agriculture advocate, and now a new entrant farmer based in North Wales. After training as a small-animal vet, a chance summer on a dairy farm ignited her passion for cattle and ecosystem health . She worked for over a decade in dairy practice across the North West, evolving into a specialist in conservation medicine and the regenerative vet movement.

Claire earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Conservation Medicine, and most recently a Nuffield Scholarship exploring links between regenerative agriculture, soil life, and animal welfare. She is co-founder of the popular resource Dung Beetles for Farmers and is a leading voice in the movement for vet-led regenerative agriculture, championing practices that protect beneficial insects, reduce chemical use, and build ecosystem resilience.

Through her Instagram presence (@dr_dowhittle), she shares accessible, science-backed insights on soil-animal-plant interactions and the role of vets in land stewardship.

At Fields Good, Claire will present “Biodiversity for Animal Health”, offering a vet’s perspective on how diverse ecosystems support herd resilience. She’ll explore root causes of disease, the role of biodiversity in preventative care, and how regenerative farming can improve both animal health and the land they depend on and how veterinary work can support the farmer from the ground up.
