About Clive Bright

Clive Bright is the founder of Rare Ruminare, an organic, pasture-fed beef and lamb farm on 120 acres near Ballymote, Co. Sligo. A fourth-generation farmer turned ecological visionary, Clive uses Holistic Planned Grazing and agroforestry, integrating shelter-belts, native trees, ponds, and multi-species swards to restore soil function, support animal welfare, and produce premium beef without reliance on external inputs.

An accomplished artist with training in textile design, Clive illustrated The Farming for Nature Handbook, published in December 2024, bringing a visual, storytelling dimension to regenerative farming principles. He is a founding board member of the Irish Agroforestry Forum and works closely with environmental bodies like the Organic Trust, Farming For Nature and Teagasc to scale biodiverse farming approaches.

In early 2024, Clive was honoured with the Environmental Award at the Irish Food Writers’ Guild Food Awards, a testament to Rare Ruminare’s role in marrying ecological stewardship with exceptional flavour and animal welfare.

At Fields Good, Clive presents “Less Bare, More There: Filling the Gaps in Soil Health”, sharing how his farm business thrives by collaborating with nature, where production, welfare, and ecosystems are in balance. Expect vibrant insights on silvopasture, water cycles, species-rich pastures, and artistic inspiration rooted in the land itself.
