About Dr Lindsay Whistance

Lindsay is Principal Researcher in Animal Husbandry at the Organic Research Centre, and one of the UK’s leading voices on farm animal behaviour, health and welfare planning, and the role of trees and shrubs in livestock systems.

With a PhD in dairy cow behaviour and decades of research bridging animal science, organic farming, and agroforestry, Lindsay brings a rare depth of knowledge, and a genuine passion for rethinking how we care for animals on farm.

She’ll be joining us to talk about animal health what it really means to take a holistic approach, why welfare planning matters, and how working with nature rather than against it changes everything for our livestock and our land.

Lindsay will also be on the Agroforestry panel talking about Trees for Tomorrow’s Farm
