About Jonny Blair
Jonny Blair is a regenerative suckler beef farmer based on the outskirts of Ballykelly, Northern Ireland. After taking over the family farm, Jonny transitioned it from conventional grazing to a holistic pasturing system, integrating native grasses, shelter belts, rotational paddocks and more recently extensive agroforestry integration. His focus on animal welfare, soil health, and farm profitability comes from balancing tradition with innovation, while keeping beef production rooted in real-world viability.
At Fields Good, Jonny joins the panel discussion “Are All Farmers Regenerative and Does It Really Matter?” Drawing on his experience blending conventional beef systems with regenerative tools, Jonny will spotlight how targeted soil-building practices can increase output while maintaining ecological integrity. He’ll share tactical approaches like multi-species swards, adaptive stocking rates, selective breeds and adaptive grazing move, contributing a practical framework for defining what regenerative actually looks like across farming systems.
