About Louise Cullen

Louise Cullen is BBC News NI’s Agriculture and Environment Correspondent, covering the issues shaping farming and the wider rural environment across Northern Ireland. Her reporting spans agriculture, conservation, water quality, climate, scientific research and innovation.

Louise has worked in journalism for more than 20 years, beginning her career with Reuters after graduating from Queen’s University Belfast in Law & Accounting. She later launched BBC Radio Ulster’s News in the West service and became the BBC’s first district journalist for County Tyrone. Louise took up her current Agriculture and Environment Correspondent role in 2021 and has since become a familiar face and voice reporting on the challenges, changes and opportunities facing Northern Ireland’s farming and rural communities.
