About Mitchell Park

Mitchell Park is a fourth-generation dairy, beef and sheep farmer from Ballymena and an active member of Glarryford YFC. A graduate in Agricultural Technology from Queen’s University Belfast, Mitchell has also spent time working and travelling in Australia, gaining experience of different farming systems and approaches to reducing costs and improving efficiency.

He has represented young farmers through both YFCU and the Ulster Farmers’ Union and previously served as Vice-Chair of YFCU’s Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee. Mitchell was runner-up in the Ulster Young Farmer competition in 2021 and went on to win the 25–30 category in 2022.

Mitchell is particularly interested in how technology, innovation and new ideas can help the next generation navigate the challenges facing agriculture, while remaining firmly grounded in the realities of running a family farm.

Mitchell will join the discussion panel – “Seeds of Change” – How do younger farmers respond to the day’s events and see their own future in agriculture? How can they be supported to overcome barriers and seize the opportunities for change and innovation?
